Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Assistant Manager to join the Bowser-Morner Inc team in managing technical and administrative services for our construction materials engineering and testing division in Toledo. This role involves supporting the Department Manager in overseeing a team of construction materials technicians, administrators, and engineering support staff. The Assistant Manager will play a key role in project budgeting, quoting, project management, staff development, operations management, and account management/business development, ensuring excellence and compliance with company standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in project budgeting and quoting for construction services projects.
  • Manage project activities, quality control, and communications with field staff.
  • Recommend and implement adjustments to staff and resource levels to meet project demands.
  • Lead project staffing and assignments in the absence of the manager.
  • Participate in business development activities and maintain client relationships.

Requirements

  • B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering Technology, or Construction Management.
  • Minimum 4-7 years of experience in construction materials testing or engineering.
  • Preferably an Engineering Intern working towards a Professional Engineering License.
  • Excellent consulting, critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
