Job Description

We are looking for a Bilingual Public Health Worker 3 with a focus on Clinical Preventive Services to join our team at Marion County Health and Human Services. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing culturally responsive programs and services to clients of diverse backgrounds and ages in a welcoming environment. This role involves investigating tuberculosis cases in the field, providing clinical services, and collaborating with nursing staff to ensure high-quality care for our clients.

General Responsibilities

  • Assess and meet the health and social service needs of a specific population through community outreach and direct client contact.
  • Provide information, education, and case management assistance under the direction of a health professional.
  • Act as an interpreter for monolingual Marshallese/Chuukese-speaking clients.

Key Duties

  • Participate in the TB team to establish effective TB control programs, including Directly Observed Therapy (DOT) and case finding activities.
  • Conduct TB screenings, TST evaluations, phlebotomy procedures, and lab processing as needed.
  • Assist with STD Investigation and Partner Services, outreach events, and HIV testing.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in a related field preferred.
  • Experience in community health, mental health, or related fields.
  • Fluent bilingual Marshallese/Chuukese/English skills required.

Special Requirements

  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
  • Pass a verbal and written Standardized Language Fluency Assessment.
  • Must meet criminal background check requirements.
