CERTIFIED PATHOLOGY ASSISTANT

Job Description

The Certified Pathology Assistant position at Campbell County Health involves routine daily histology workload and specialized tests required by pathologists to determine a diagnosis. The role works under the supervision of the Pathologist and includes accessioning specimens, obtaining clinical information, gross anatomic feature descriptions, surgical specimen dissection, tissue preparation, submitting specimens for additional analytical procedures, and more. Other responsibilities include preliminary anatomic diagnosis, coordinating digital slide scanning with pathologists, and complying with regulatory standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree and completion of a National Accrediting Agency Clinical Laboratory Science Program (NAACLS)
• ASCP Certification
• 1-2 years of Pathology Assistant experience preferred
