CNC Department Manager

Job Description

Object Construction, Inc. is seeking a talented CNC Department Manager to oversee the daily operations of the CNC department. As a leading scenic fabrication shop based in Los Angeles, we specialize in turning creative visions into reality for high-profile clients in events, music, and other industries. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC machining, project management, and team leadership.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily activities of the CNC department, including scheduling and execution of projects.
• Collaborate with the Technical Design team to translate drawings into CNC operations.
• Supervise project workflow from CNC processing to final production stages.
• Ensure product quality through regular quality control checks and equipment maintenance.
• Lead and develop the CNC team to enhance skills and productivity.
• Stay current with CNC technology and software advancements.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience with team or department management.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Rhino, VCarve, or similar software.
• Experience with Google Workspace for project management.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and project management capabilities.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional CNC training preferred.

Work Environment

This role is physically demanding, requiring standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 pounds. Working primarily with materials like MDF and plywood, the job offers a dynamic and hands-on environment in a job shop setting.

Compensation

$30-$40 per hour
