Corp Counsel, Litigation

Job Description

We are looking for a Corporate Counsel, Litigation to join Jazz Pharmaceuticals, a leading global biopharmaceutical company. As the Corporate Counsel, Litigation, you will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of litigation matters, including antitrust, securities, patent, commercial, and employment disputes. This is a full-time position reporting to the Assistant General Counsel, Litigation, Legal Operations & Strategy, based in the US.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the strategy and day-to-day management of litigation matters in the U.S. and globally.
• Manage or assist in matters involving various legal areas such as antitrust, securities, patent, commercial, and employment disputes.
• Interact with functional leaders across the company and advise on litigation impact.
• Participate in strategic initiatives and working groups within the Legal, Corporate, and Government Affairs Department.
• Lead internal investigations and provide legal support for compliance matters.
• Oversee discovery strategy and execution, including document review, witness preparation, and e-discovery.
• Collaborate with outside counsel, ensure adherence to billing guidelines, and maintain budgetary control.
• Develop a deep understanding of Jazz's business and client areas, staying updated on relevant legal changes.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant litigation experience in law firms or in-house legal departments.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to discuss legal matters with non-lawyers.
• Experience litigating cases in U.S. state and federal courts, preferably in pharmaceutical or life sciences industries.
• Strong analytical skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively, and resolve legal issues effectively.
• Willingness to travel within the United States and Europe as needed.

Education and Licenses

• Must be licensed to practice law in one or more U.S. jurisdictions.
