Lead Grocery Store Designer

Location: Greater Chicago Area

Associated Wholesale Grocers, Inc. (AWG) is the nation’s largest cooperative food wholesaler, serving over 1,100 member companies and 3,400 locations in 31 states. We are looking for a Lead Grocery Store Designer to join our team in designing and coordinating grocery store development projects in the Kansas City Division.

Responsibilities

• Meet with member retailers to design fixture layouts and recommend building components.
• Supervise building construction, collaborate with architects and engineers, and manage project budgets.
• Coordinate equipment installations, negotiate with vendors, and resolve construction issues.
• Provide training to Store Engineers and manage departmental operations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of retail grocery industry and CAD software.
• Experience in construction management, refrigeration systems, and making presentations.
• Strong attention to detail, technical aptitude, and relationship building skills.
• Minimum high school diploma, with grocery store design and construction experience preferred.
• Ability to travel up to 50%.
