Compensation: $25.40 - $26.40/hr, Sign-On Bonus: $5,000

Job Description

We are looking for a Lead Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team in Cargill's protein and salt business, playing a vital role in maintaining production machinery and ensuring food safety and quality. You will be responsible for responding to and resolving maintenance-related issues, documenting daily work, and troubleshooting equipment as necessary. Principal Accountabilities

  • Using hand tools to perform maintenance on production machinery.
  • Ensuring food safety and quality.
  • Cleanliness and housekeeping.
  • Responding to radio calls from other departments for maintenance-related actions.
  • Communicating with other departments to ensure the proper pass down of maintenance-related issues.
  • Documenting daily work assigned on paper and in the maintenance management system (SAP).
  • Troubleshooting equipment and communicating equipment status to maintenance management and other departments.
  • Utilizing parts in inventory to repair equipment and documenting what is issued out.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal & written).
  • Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50 lbs., kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions with the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above).
  • Ability to operate and set up machines using manuals.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and isolate malfunctions on production equipment and show mechanical aptitude.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use basic hand tools.
  • Ability to operate a forklift and other motorized equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 year previous production or maintenance experience.
  • Meat processing experience.
  • Food handling experience.
