Job Description

Preformed Line Products is looking for a talented Manufacturing Process Specialist to drive global manufacturing performance improvement through equipment, process engineering, and product engineering collaboration. As a key member of our team, you will lead technical process improvement, increase manufacturing productivity, and support remote site alignment on manufacturing process standards. Essential Functions

  • Manufacturing Process Leadership:
    1. Lead technical process improvement and troubleshooting support on metal and plastic fabrication.
    2. Increase manufacturing productivity as measured by process KPIs.
    3. Support remote site alignment on manufacturing process standards (GOS) for best practice safety, quality, and productivity.
    4. Coach site manufacturing engineering teams for development.
  • Production Equipment Strategy:
    1. Drive improvement plans for helical wire processing equipment.
    2. Maintain and update global proprietary machine design drawing catalog.
    3. Lead global machine maintenance strategy with systems to improve asset availability.
    4. Review and support new capital equipment business case development.
  • Product Engineering Collaboration:
    1. Provide recommendations for product development engineers (Design for Manufacturability).
    2. Support PLM software implementation.
  • Operations Support and Technical Expertise:
    1. Bring new developments in manufacturing to PLP sites around the world.
    2. Assess overall operations performance and drive improvement actions.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • B.S. Degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum of ten years of experience in engineering or management.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing technology and processing methods.
  • Minimum of five years of management experience.
  • Ability to use computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Maintain familiarity with manufacturing, inventory control, and costing software applications.
  • Strong project management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%.
  • Physical strength to lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
