Responsibilities
- Conducting independent research, developing and implementing technical protocols, analyzing data, presenting findings to the laboratory, and helping to maintain the laboratory.
- Conducting and designing independent research under the direction of lab Principal Investigator (PI).
- Performing cell culture, genomic analysis, ELISA assays, histology, flow cytometry, and other molecular bench work.
- Processing human and murine tissues.
- Managing laboratory resources, ordering reagents, and other lab supplies as needed.
- Handling and working with mice for routine experiments, managing mouse colonies, and genotyping.
- Summarizing experimental data timely and assisting in drafting figures, results, and methods for publication under the direction of the PI.
- Leading junior research assistants/technicians/students and presenting research findings to other members of the laboratory.
- Acquiring a thorough understanding of the present scientific literature relating to the research in the laboratory.
Qualifications
Doctorate degree (Ph.D.) in Cellular Biology, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field. Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture, mouse handling, flow cytometry, and RT-PCR analysis. Expertise with immunohistochemistry, histology, microscopy, small animal procedures, genetic mouse models, ELISA assays, and other molecular biology assays.
Salary: $76,484.00/year to $88,604.00/year for applicants in New York City or Westchester County; salary will reflect local market rates for applicants outside these areas.
