Senior Hydrogeologist

Job Description

Montgomery & Associates is currently seeking a full-time Senior Hydrogeologist to join our California Team based in Monterey or Oakland. This senior-level position involves managing and providing technical oversight for multiple projects related to hydrogeology and groundwater resources. As part of our team, you will collaborate with project staff, clients, and regulators while working on various tasks, including planning and implementing SGMA projects, predictive modeling, and groundwater assessments.

Responsibilities

• Manage and contribute to hydrogeology projects focusing on groundwater management.
• Develop hydrogeologic conceptual models and water budgets.
• Design monitoring networks and interact with field teams for implementation.
• Interact with regulatory agencies and prepare technical reports.
• Review technical reports and direct junior staff.
• Prepare technical proposals and work plans for future projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in hydrology, geology, or engineering; graduate degree preferred.
• Ten or more years of experience in environmental consulting.
• Proficiency in applying hydrogeologic principles and working with groundwater models.
• Experience with SGMA projects and California water laws preferred.
• Strong communication and project management skills.
• Valid California driver's license and eligibility to work in the U.S.
