Job Description
AWPM is seeking an Administrator of Land Surveying - Licensed Land Surveyor in Memphis, Tennessee. The incumbent will lead the Land Survey service department, advising the Leadership team, and managing a department budget. The salary range is $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year plus an attractive benefits package.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain AWPM standards for quality, accuracy, and completeness of surveying work.
- Coordinate projects efficiently to minimize rework and offset potential scheduling conflicts.
- Maintain current knowledge of surveying trends and developments, evaluate new technologies, and transfer information to the team.
- Maintain a high-quality level of work product by developing and following quality control procedures.
- Consult with clients in contract development and proposal preparation.
- Report progress to clients and AWPM management.
- Review all final drafting of survey maps or plates and sign/seal all required documents.
- Develop and train departmental staff in surveying related tasks and review field data for completeness.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must be an effective manager of people and maintain satisfactory relationships with principals, company personnel, clients, and other consultants.
- Demonstrated experience in project/phase management for large-scale private sector survey projects.
- Technical knowledge of required surveying software programs.
- Understanding of land surveying processes used in drafting for a surveying department.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Education and Experience
- Registered Licensed Surveyor (RLS) or Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in the State of Tennessee is a requirement.
- Registered Land Surveyor in the State of Alabama, Mississippi, or Arkansas is a plus.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
