Job Description

Under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, the Clinical Pharmacy Technician I assists in ensuring smooth and accurate pharmacy operations in accordance with Option Care Health policies & procedures, as well as the state's professional standards & regulations. This position also involves prescription and equipment preparation and processing, patient support and experience, inventory maintenance, and site & supplies maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Review/validate basic prescription drug refill requests and process according to Option Care Health policies and procedures.
  • Assist with preparing and dispensing medications & supplies.
  • Collect & maintain basic patient information for accurate planning of needed materials/supplies, equipment, and prescriptions.
  • Receive & verify quantities of incoming supplies & materials, stock & store new supplies & materials, review expiration dates, identify shortages, and track inventory through accurate data entry into applicable system(s).
  • Clean & sanitize surfaces and laminar hood flows, clean & organize supplies.

Basic Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 0 to 6 months of relevant experience.
  • Licensed or registered within 6 months of hire (if required by state).
  • Successful enrollment and completion of the Option Care Health designated training course within 6 months of hire (if licensure and/or training course is required by the state).

Basic Qualifications & Interests (BQIs)

  • Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Able to perform basic & intermediate level mathematical calculations.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Basic level skill in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, reaching.
  • Ability to carry at least 30lbs.
