Toyon Research Corporation is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the Advanced Concepts flight test team of the Aerospace Systems group. The ideal candidate will have aided in the design and fielding of prototype mixed signal embedded electrical systems. This position requires the ability to design/build/test one-off embedded PCBA's and perform troubleshooting on tight timelines. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and work well within a team of interdisciplinary engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build mixed signal embedded system circuits.
  • Perform system analysis and develop system designs.
  • Devise new approaches to resolve unusual or complex engineering problems.
  • Troubleshoot conflicting design/development requirements, difficult coordination requirements, and special material requirements.
  • Work in cross-functional engineering groups across multiple projects.
  • Develop technical material for reviews.
  • Ability to function under ambiguous conditions.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution, and a minimum of five years of experience.
  • Experience designing, building, and troubleshooting prototype embedded circuits.
  • Experience with EE design tools like Altium, SPICE simulators, or other.
  • Software familiarity with Python + SciPy, MATLAB, or other.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with RF circuit design.
  • Experience working with communication protocols such as RS-232, ARINC, low voltage TTL, Ethernet, MIL-STD-1553 (or 1773).
  • Experience with power electronics design.
  • Experience with RF telemetry systems.
  • Experience with FPGA use.

The annual pay range for the Electrical Engineer position is $100,000 to $200,000.
