Position Summary

The Engineer II (EII) at EarthScope Consortium manages and implements geophysical instrumentation projects, providing technical support to geophysical instruments and networks. This role involves field operations, logistics coordination, instrument design evaluation, and collaboration with team members and external stakeholders. The EII contributes to reporting and documentation, adhering to best practices and organizational standards.

Responsibilities

  • Implement geophysical projects and assist with multiple projects.
  • Identify and solve technical issues related to geophysical sensors.
  • Assist in designing and testing new systems.
  • Evaluate instrument design and data/metadata adequacy.
  • Ensure documentation compliance and draft technical reports.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams on projects.
  • Maintain relationships with stakeholders and partners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years' experience with geophysical sensors or networks.
  • Familiarity with data quality analysis software is a plus.

This role requires technical proficiency, problem-solving skills, effective communication, and the ability to work in varied environments.
