Job Description
We are currently seeking ESL teachers (Language Acquisition Teachers) for the 2024-2025 school year at Match Education in Boston. Our LATs provide crucial support to multilingual students in our PreK-12 school setting, focusing on language acquisition and development. As a LAT, you will work collaboratively with other educators to deliver high-quality instruction and support to our diverse student body.
Responsibilities
- Provide co-teaching, instructional, and inclusion support in general education classes for multilingual learners.
- Deliver targeted language interventions in small group settings.
- Utilize ELD levels and formative assessments to guide instruction and achieve language acquisition goals.
- Manage language acquisition programming, including paperwork, teacher professional development, and communication with parents and students.
- Regularly communicate student progress to families through various channels.
- Collaborate with team members to share best practices for language development in the classroom.
Qualifications
- Minimum of two years full-time experience as an ESL, classroom, or special education teacher, preferably in an urban education setting.
- Hold a valid ESL license issued by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education or obtain licensure by the date of hire.
- Believe in the potential of all students to succeed and demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Proven track record of student success and achievement.
