Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Histotechnologist to join our team at Corewell Health on a full-time basis, working the evening shift. As a Histotechnologist, you will be responsible for processing, embedding, cutting, staining tissue specimens for microscopic examination by a pathologist to aid in making diagnoses.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform histotechnician tasks such as tissue embedding, slide preparation, staining procedures, and specimen processing.
- Conduct dissection and gross description of specimens as required.
- Prepare specimens for frozen section examination including freezing, cutting, staining, and slide preparation.
- Maintain inventory of chemicals, stains, and controls while ensuring lab equipment and work areas are clean.
- Participate in equipment maintenance and quality control procedures.
Qualifications
- Associate's Degree required.
- Certification as a Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) preferred.
