Job Description

Corewell Health is seeking a dedicated Histotechnologist to join our team on a full-time basis during the evening shift. As a Histotechnologist, you will play a crucial role in preparing tissue specimens for microscopic examination to aid in making accurate diagnoses.

Essential Functions

  • Perform histotechnician skills including embedding tissue, cutting tissue, preparing slides, and various staining procedures.
  • Prepare specimens for frozen section examination.
  • Maintain inventory, clean equipment/work area, and participate in quality control procedures.
  • Engage in continuous study to maintain professional competence.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree required.
  • Certification as a Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) by ASCP preferred.

Physical Demands

Detailed physical demands include lifting, carrying, sitting, standing, walking, and various movements required in the laboratory setting. Color vision and visual acuity standards are essential.

Primary Location: SITE - 35 Michigan St - Grand Rapids

Department Name: Lab - Histology - GR

Weekly Scheduled Hours: 40

Hours of Work: 1:00 pm - 9:30 pm
