Histotechnologist Full Time Evening Shift

Job Description

We are hiring a Histotechnologist to join our team at Corewell Health. As a Histotechnologist, you will be responsible for preparing tissue specimens for microscopic examination to assist in making accurate diagnoses. This full-time position offers an evening shift schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform histotechnician tasks such as embedding tissue, cutting tissue, preparing slides, and conducting various staining procedures.
• Participate in specimen dissection, gross description, and preparation for frozen section examination.
• Maintain inventory of chemicals, stains, and controls while ensuring cleanliness of the lab equipment and work area.
• Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated with best practices and requirements.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree required.
• Certification as a Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) preferred.

Physical Demands

Physical demands include occasional sitting, standing, walking, and handling, with occasional to seldom requirements for lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and other physical activities.

• Location: SITE - 35 Michigan St - Grand Rapids
• Department: Lab - Histology - GR
• Employment Type: Full-time
• Shift: Evening (1:00 pm-9:30 pm, Monday to Friday)
