Histotechnologist Full Time Night Shift

Job Description

Corewell Health is looking for a Histotechnologist to join our team on a full-time night shift basis. As a Histotechnologist, you will be responsible for preparing tissue specimens for microscopic examination, assisting pathologists in making accurate diagnoses.

Essential Functions

• Perform histotechnician tasks such as embedding tissue, cutting tissue, preparing slides, and conducting staining procedures.
• Conduct specimen processing, instrument operation and maintenance, and maintain inventory of chemicals and stains.
• Engage in continuous learning to stay updated on best practices in the field.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all activities.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree required.
• Certification as a Histotechnician or Histotechnologist preferred.

Physical Demands

• Various physical demands including lifting, carrying, pushing, sitting, standing, and handling materials.
• Requirements for visual acuity and color vision testing.

Location and Schedule

• Primary Location: Grand Rapids, MI.
• Employment Type: Full-time Night Shift.
• Weekly Scheduled Hours: 40 hours.
• Hours of Work: 9:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., Monday to Friday.
• Weekend Frequency: Not applicable.
