Histotechnologist
Job Summary
Join Corewell Health as a Histotechnologist on the night shift team. This position involves preparing tissue specimens for microscopic examination to aid in accurate diagnostics.
Essential Functions
- Perform histotechnician tasks, including tissue embedding, cutting, staining, and slide preparation.
- Conduct routine and special staining procedures and maintain inventory of supplies.
- Assist in specimen dissection, gross description, and frozen section preparation.
- Maintain lab equipment, cleanliness, and quality control processes.
- Engage in professional development and continuous training.
- Ensure accurate documentation of all activities.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree required.
- ASCP certification preferred.
Physical Demands
Various physical demands including lifting, carrying, sitting, standing, and visual acuity requirements.
Location & Schedule
- Primary Location: 35 Michigan St, Grand Rapids.
- Employment Type: Full-time Night Shift.
- Weekly Hours: 40, Hours of Work: 9:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., Monday to Friday.
