LPN - Specialty Acute Care

Job Description

Main Hospital 5W (MH5W) is a 16-bed acute care unit with a unique clinical focus, providing specialized care for liver failure patients, including transplant recipients. The LPN will provide individualized, goal-directed, and family-centered patient care, following the direction of a Registered Nurse and demonstrating proficiency according to the laws governing nursing in South Carolina. This position will require the use of the LPN’s skills in multiple physical locations under MUSC Health.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized, goal-directed, and family-centered patient care.
• Interact with other members of the healthcare team to achieve desired results and outcomes.
• Utilize LPN skills in multiple physical locations under MUSC Health.

Requirements

• Completion of a recognized Licensed Practical Nursing program.
• Minimum of six months' experience as LPN.
• Licensed as an LPN within the state of South Carolina or a compact state.
• Current CPR card required (either American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers or American Red Cross Professional Rescuer card).
• Ability to demonstrate commitment to patient-centered care philosophy.

Additional requirements

• Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, and lifting objects, along with maintaining sensory functions.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and deal effectively with stressful situations.
