Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Medical Technologist to join Corewell Health, the largest not-for-profit healthcare system in Michigan. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of routine and specialized tests to aid physicians in diagnosing and treating patients. Your work will cover areas such as Chemistry, Hematology, Immunohematology, Microbiology, and other specialties.
Responsibilities
- Independently conduct routine and complex laboratory procedures while maintaining technical proficiency.
- Evaluate test results, instrument performance, and quality control measures to ensure accuracy.
- Participate in the development of new test procedures and methodologies.
- Provide training to students, residents, and new employees in clinical laboratory science.
- Collaborate in quality assurance activities and regulatory compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Biology with a focus on microbiology and chemistry.
- Completion of a clinical laboratory program and internship.
- Certification as a Medical Technologist by ASCP or equivalent certifying agency.
