Job Description
Corewell Health, the largest not-for-profit healthcare system in Michigan, is seeking a dedicated Medical Technologist to join our dynamic team. The Medical Technologist will perform a variety of routine and specialized tests and procedures in various laboratory areas to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patients. This full-time position offers a world of opportunity within our expansive system, including working in nationally ranked hospitals and outpatient sites throughout southeastern Michigan.
Responsibilities
- Independently conduct a range of chemical, hematologic, immunologic, and microbiologic procedures utilizing laboratory instruments and manual techniques.
- Evaluate test results, instrument performance, and quality control measures to ensure accuracy and reliability of data.
- Standardize, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory equipment.
- Assist in the development of new test procedures and methodologies, as well as participate in education and training programs.
- Contribute to quality assurance and regulatory activities within the department.
Requirements
- Baccalaureate degree with specific biology and chemistry coursework.
- Clinical internship or equivalent experience as required by certification agencies.
- Certification as a Medical Technologist by approved agencies or eligibility to obtain certification.
- Physical ability to walk, stand, and handle hazardous materials in a clinical laboratory setting.
