General Summary
As a Medical Technologist at Corewell Health, you will perform and report routine or select clinical laboratory tests and procedures in one or more sections of the laboratory.
Essential Duties
- Perform chemical, hematologic, microscopic, morphologic, immunologic, and/or microbiologic procedures.
- Evaluate instrument performance and quality control results.
- Participate in training and education activities.
- Contribute to quality assurance and regulatory agency activities.
- Participate in process improvements and cost-effectiveness initiatives.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Standard Qualifications
- Baccalaureate degree in biology and chemistry.
- Completion of an accredited clinical training program.
- Certification by ASCP or equivalent agency.
Working Conditions
Physical effort: Requires walking and occasional light lifting. Work environment: Clinical laboratory with potential exposure to hazardous materials.
