Medical Technologist Lead

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Medical Technologist Lead to join Corewell Health, the largest not-for-profit health care system in Michigan. In this Full-time position on the Midnight shift at the Royal Oak Campus Microbiology Lab, you will play a crucial role in supervising the laboratory department's operations, quality control, and staff training. You will assist in managing the laboratory in the absence of the Manager, ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations, personnel functions, and training within the laboratory department.
• Ensure compliance with quality assurance and quality control standards, proficiency testing, and documentation requirements.
• Participate in process improvement projects and oversee instrument troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Develop and maintain procedure manuals, workflows, and policies in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
• Create and deliver training programs for laboratory staff and coordinate clinical education initiatives.
• Perform routine and complex laboratory procedures accurately and efficiently.

Requirements

• Baccalaureate degree with specific coursework in biology and chemistry.
• Minimum of 2 years of technical experience in a laboratory setting.
• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist.
