Job Title: Merchandise Handler - Overtime Available

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: Competitive pay starting at $17 per hour
Primary Objective & Scope of Position:
This position is responsible for performing duties associated with merchandise movement, including storing, moving, and distributing products. The Merchandise Handler will lead by example and provide training to other employees.
Essential Functions and Accountabilities:
Merchandise Movement
- Ensure space efficiency by moving and condensing merchandise within locations.
- Move merchandise to and from the show floor, display or rewrap for storage, delivery, customer pickup, or shipment.
- Manage flow using the point of sale (POS) system.
- Ensure accuracy on customer orders and system records.
- Handle incoming merchandise by unloading, identifying, inspecting, tagging, and receiving. Outgoing merchandise should be unpacked, inspected, assembled, and wrapped for secure delivery.
Training
- Lead by example and provide training to other employees.
Customer Service
- Communicate professionally with customers, colleagues, and vendors.
- Ensure inventory accuracy by resolving discrepancies and keeping management informed about inventory.
Other
- Follow lean practices and perform all other duties as directed by the supervisor.
- Assist with grounds and building maintenance, as well as lighting.
Safety
- Adhere to safety policies and practices.
- Avoid damage to equipment/merchandise through proper handling, operating, and maintenance of equipment.
- Maintain a safe and organized facility.
- Abide by company rules and expectations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED (or currently working towards).
- Basic math skills.
- Knowledge of tools, hardware components, and product assembly.
- Valid driver's license.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- POS knowledge desirable.
