Job Description

Bishop Gadsden is seeking Nursing Assistants or CNAs to provide excellence in senior living for our Myers Hall Assisted Living community! Our (Certified) Nursing Assistants provide quality care by assisting residents with personal, nutritional, and restorative care in an assisted living setting. The successful candidate will be dependable, friendly, energetic, and have compassion for and the desire to work with seniors. Full-time, part-time, and PRN (as needed) evening (3:00-11:30 pm) shifts are available. Join our team and be part of our exceptional senior living community!

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the basic care of assigned group of residents striving to promote the resident’s independence in all areas.
  • Provide personal care for residents, including any and all activities of daily living (ADL) as needed.
  • Assist residents with dining needs, including assistance to the dining room and in-room dining service.
  • Encourage resident independence and optimal level of functioning.
  • Receive and give reports on residents' condition at the beginning and end of each shift via walking rounds.
  • Observe any changes in resident condition and report to the shift supervisor immediately.
  • Communicate and cooperate with other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team to accomplish the plan of care.
  • Ensure residents get to appointments on time and are dressed and groomed appropriately.
  • Launder and iron residents' personal items as needed.
  • Adhere to attendance and scheduling requirements.
  • Adhere to established facility and departmental safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain professional appearance and conduct, exhibiting a respectful and courteous demeanor at all times.
  • Perform all responsibilities with adherence to Resident's Rights and HIPAA.

Qualifications

  • Interpersonal skills are necessary for exchanging information, as well as maintaining a courteous relationship with the residents, families, visitors, and Bishop Gadsden employees.
  • Able to effectively multitask.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and written.
  • Ability to read and comprehend numbers and written material.
  • Ability to stand, stoop, bend, reach, and lift (up to 50 pounds).
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.

Required Education and Experience

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Experience working with seniors is required.
  • CNA certification is preferred.
