Job Description

Discover Financial Services is looking for a Principal Product Owner to join the HR Technology team. In this role, you will collaborate with business leaders in Payroll and Timekeeping to deliver product outcomes that meet stakeholder requests while managing change impacts. This position requires a deep understanding of Payroll, Absence, and Timekeeping functions to ensure successful solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead prioritization of business requests in collaboration with HR leaders.
  • Define key product features and roadmaps based on insights and data.
  • Align product vision with industry best practices.
  • Create essential product documentation and business requirements.
  • Identify non-functional requirements and define Minimum Viable Product (MVP).
  • Collaborate with various teams to implement product features and enhancements.
  • Oversee compliance and quality standards alignment.
  • Validate user story acceptance criteria and testing frameworks.
  • Manage implementation timelines and dependencies with other teams.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in Product, Business, Technical, or related roles.
  • 8+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Workday’s Payroll, Time Tracking, and Absence products.
  • Familiarity with U.S payroll laws and regulations.
  • Project Management experience and Agile methodology knowledge is a plus.
