Job Description

Amazon Web Services is seeking a talented and driven Senior Region Build Technical Program Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the development of new AWS regions globally, contributing to the expansion of AWS services around the world. You will work closely with Service Teams, Infrastructure, and Business Development to design and deliver new AWS regions, collaborating with Product Teams to design solutions that efficiently use resources and technologies. As a Technical Program Manager, you will assess risks, anticipate issues, overcome technical obstacles, make difficult trade-off decisions, and balance business needs and technical constraints.

Your program management expertise and operational excellence will influence the team’s decisions and drive secure and scalable solutions. Additionally, your role will include representing program status to senior leadership, driving customer experience research and development, and embracing a culture of inclusion and diversity at AWS.

Responsibilities

  • Support the global expansion of AWS by managing new region builds.
  • Collaborate with Service Teams, Infrastructure, and Business Development to design and deliver new AWS regions.
  • Collaborate with Product Teams to design solutions that efficiently use resources and technologies.
  • Develop schedules to ensure timely launch of new regions.
  • Assess risks, anticipate issues, and overcome technical obstacles.
  • Embrace a culture of inclusion and diversity at AWS.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience.
  • 7+ years working directly with engineering teams.
  • 3+ years of software development experience.
  • Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams and building processes.
