Job Description
Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a Senior Region Build Technical Program Manager for Region Services to manage new region builds across the globe. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, detail oriented, and excellent problem-solving abilities to support AWS global expansion as a technical program manager. You will work closely with Service Teams, Infrastructure, and Business Development to design and deliver new AWS regions while collaborating with Product Teams to design efficient solutions. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing schedules to ensure timely launch of new regions, assessing risks, overcoming technical obstacles, and driving secure and scalable solutions.
This role will sit in Amazon's new headquarters in Northern Virginia, where Amazon will invest $2.5 billion dollars, occupy 4 million square feet of energy-efficient office space, and create at least 25,000 new full-time jobs.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Service Teams, Infrastructure, and Business Development to design and deliver new AWS regions.
- Work with Product Teams to design solutions that make efficient use of resources and technologies.
- Develop schedules to ensure timely launch of new regions.
- Assess risks, anticipate issues, overcome technical obstacles, and drive secure and scalable solutions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience.
- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience.
- 3+ years of software development experience.
- 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience.
