Job Description
Performance Foodservice is seeking a Shuttle Driver with a CDL A license to join our team. As a critical part of the food supply chain, the Shuttle Driver plays a vital role in delivering goods safely and efficiently to our customers. The Shuttle Driver is responsible for transporting empty trailers to warehouse locations and delivering full trailers to domicile/shuttle yard locations. This role requires a dedication to safety and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, as well as professional interaction with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
Responsibilities
- Performing required safety checks and inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations.
- Following all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines.
- Driving and delivering trailers according to predetermined route schedule.
- Completing daily record of hours of service and entering in log according to Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
- Performing general housekeeping duties in tractor and loading dock area.
Requirements
- 12 months commercial driving experience.
- High school diploma/GED or state approved equivalent.
- Valid CDL A with Doubles Endorsement.
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
- Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
- Work required 3rd shift schedule, Sunday-Thursday nights (schedules may vary).
- Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check.
- Valid current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure a new DOT Health Card.
- Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shift.
