Job Description

Home Builders Institute Inc is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Skilled Trades Instructor specializing in Electrical to join our dynamic team. As an instructor, you will play a vital role in teaching and guiding program participants in essential trade skills and safety practices. This position offers the opportunity to work with transitioning service members in the Norfolk, Va. area, fostering the development of future trades professionals.

Responsibilities

• Instruct program participants in trade skills using approved curriculum.
• Develop curriculum and training materials as necessary.
• Coordinate hands-on training activities and demonstrate proper tool and equipment use with an emphasis on safety.
• Assist with student recruitment, placement, and employability training.
• Monitor and mentor students, fostering positive relationships within the program.
• Perform administrative tasks and ensure adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Journey-level experience in Electrical trades or related field.
• Strong orientation towards safety in the workplace.

Working Conditions

This position typically involves usual office-type working conditions with some physical activities. Nominal travel may be required. HBI prioritizes the health and safety of its employees and students, requiring up-to-date vaccination statuses.
