Job Description
We are looking for a Systems Development Engineer to join the Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. team in Seattle, WA. As part of the AWS Serverless team, you will be working on building and supporting managed services to revolutionize how the world computes. This role requires expertise in software development, systems engineering, and systems security to solve complex problems and improve the tools used by AWS customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and architect new systems with a focus on reliability and scaling.
- Contribute to the development of fully managed services like Lambda and Simple Workflow.
- Work with a team of talented engineers to create innovative solutions for our customers' needs.
- Identify and implement improvements in tools, processes, and documentation to enhance customer experience.
Basic Qualifications
- 2+ years of professional software development experience.
- 1+ years of experience in designing or architecting systems.
- 7+ years of hands-on systems engineering experience in networking, storage, and operating systems.
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, Python, or C++.
- Active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with PowerShell, Python, Ruby, or Java.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies like Scrum.
