The Systems Development Engineer, ADC2S, position at Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. offers an exciting opportunity to utilize the latest cloud computing technologies to help U.S. Government agencies implement innovative cloud computing solutions and solve complex technical problems. As a part of the specialized service teams responsible for the U.S. Intelligence Community, you will contribute to building some of the largest and most complex distributed systems in the world, working with a team of talented engineers to develop your skills and career within one of the most innovative technology companies.

The role involves working with the rapidly growing Serverless team, dedicated to creating scalable and fault-tolerant production systems by building and supporting fully managed services such as Lambda, Simple Workflow, Step Functions, and internal services powering the cloud offerings. As a smart, enthusiastic, and creative Systems Development Engineer, you will have the opportunity to solve challenging problems across software development, systems engineering, and systems security disciplines to improve tools, processes, and documentation, ultimately enhancing the lives of customers.

The successful candidate selected for this role must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance and obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph or commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 1+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
  • 7+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems, and hands-on systems engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems).
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby.
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with PowerShell (preferred), Python, Ruby, or Java.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology.

The base pay for this position ranges from $103,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $201,200/year in our highest geographic market.
