We are excited to announce an opportunity to join our team at First Student as a Gas and Diesel Technician II. At First Student, the largest school transportation provider in North America, we are looking for a skilled technician to maintain and repair our fleet of General Motors vans and Freightliner school buses, ensuring vehicle readiness and safety. The ideal candidate will have experience in automotive or diesel maintenance, possess a mechanic's tool set, and be eager to participate in our ASE certification program. Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual DOT maintenance inspections.
  • Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle and equipment repair, including brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, & transmissions.
  • Ensure work orders are completed accurately.
  • Assist with mobile emergency services.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license required; Willingness to obtain CDL while employed – We train!
  • At least 3 years of automotive or diesel maintenance & repair experience or technical school education.
  • Possess a mechanic's tool set.
  • Willingness to participate in ASE certification program. Training, testing, and bonuses provided!
  • Subject to DOT drug testing and physical.
