Warehouse Worker

Job Description

Slumberland Furniture is currently hiring Warehouse Workers to join our team. This full-time position involves working Monday to Friday from 7:00 am, starting at $17 per hour. As a Warehouse Worker, you will be responsible for merchandise movement, including storing, moving, and distributing products. Additionally, you will provide some training to other employees, ensure accuracy in customer orders, manage inventory, and maintain a safe and organized facility.

Primary Objective & Scope of Position:

This role focuses on efficiently handling merchandise movement tasks, leading by example, and contributing to the overall operational efficiency of the warehouse.

Essential Functions and Accountabilities:

• Move and condense merchandise within locations to optimize space.
• Handle merchandise transfers to and from the show floor for storage, delivery, or customer pickup.
• Utilize the point of sale (POS) system for inventory management.
• Ensure precision in customer orders and system records.
• Contribute to incoming and outgoing merchandise procedures to maintain product integrity.

Training: Lead by example and provide training to other team members.

Customer Service: Maintain professional communication with customers, colleagues, and vendors. Resolve inventory discrepancies and keep management informed.

Other: Participate in lean practices, manage and maintain grounds and building, provide lighting assistance, and fulfill additional duties as directed.

Safety: Adhere to safety protocols, handle equipment and merchandise with care, maintain a safe facility, and comply with company regulations.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent (or currently pursuing).
• Basic math skills.
• Knowledge of tools, hardware components, and product assembly.
• Valid driver's license.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Point of sale (POS) system knowledge is a plus.
